A new program at Commonweal, American Life Corps (a temporary name), is hiring! American Life Corps is an immersive residential experience for 20-24-year-olds to spend four to six months living and learning together. The program will build diverse cohorts of young adults equipped to be engaged in their communities. We are looking for a program director and an operations director.
The program director, in close collaboration and partnership with the operations director, will establish the programmatic and organizational foundation. The program director will ensure the development of the program model, implement outreach strategies, and help to secure new funding to ensure a successful pilot over the next 18-24 months. This position is funded through December 2022, with the possibility of extension based on the success of the program and the individual in this role. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and relational, and deeply motivated by personal and societal transformation. Success in this position requires a combination of experience working with young adults, developing and managing programs, and experience with contemplative/spiritual practices. The operations director will support the implementation of the program model, establish policies and systems, and help secure new funding to ensure a successful pilot over the next 18-24 months. This position is funded through December 2022, with the possibility of extending based on the success of the program and the individual in this role. The ideal candidate has experience operationalizing entrepreneurial endeavors, and is energized by the opportunity to support personal and societal transformation. Success in this position requires the ability to implement policies and systems to ensure the success of the team and the program, apply flexible and creative thinking while navigating uncertainty and evolving conditions.
