There are many ways to join the Commonweal community—making a donation, attending one of our New School or other program events, participating in one of the Collaborative for Health and the Environment calls, or volunteering your time and skills. Jobs and volunteer opportunities are listed below.
Commonweal’s program work is expanding, and we are hiring a new accountant for the increased work. The new accountant will work closely with Commonweal’s accounting staff of four people, administrative team, and program staff. This position is for 24 hours per week or 60% FTE. The salary for this 60% position depends on experience, and the range is $26,832 annually ($21.50 per hour) to $37,440 ($30 per hour). Because the accounting work is paper based, at least two days need to be worked on site in Bolinas. Remote work is optional for the remainder. Find our more about the position on our job description. Please send your resume and cover email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Website Support (remote)
CancerChoices, a complete makeover of Beyond Conventional Cancer Therapies (bcct.ngo), is a new website on which substantial information about integrative cancer care is available free of charge. The two main collections are reviews of integrative cancer therapies and handbooks for different cancer types, body terrain factors, and side effects and symptoms. Duties for this remote work include converting Google Docs into webpages in WordPress: copying and pasting text, formatting footnotes, creating pop-up definitions, embedding videos, uploading images, proofreading text and similar tasks.
Candidates must have a high degree of attention to detail and the self-discipline to work unsupervised. The candidate needs to be able to commit and complete the hours and tasks assigned. This position is projected to begin immediately and continue for roughly 20 weeks at 15-20 hours per week. The pay rate is $18/hour. Training and support will be provided via phone and Zoom, with frequent meetings and status updates. Specific knowledge of WordPress and image editing is helpful but not required. We will train a candidate who can learn specific skills quickly. Candidates need to be fluent across many related computer applications, such as email, word processing, spreadsheets and file uploading.
