California Juvenile Justice Realignment Summary (SB 81)

We are making available a PowerPoint that David Steinhart has presented in several forums this year, describing the genesis and main provisions of the new California Juvenile Justice Realignment measure (SB 81, as amended by AB 191). The final slide is a brief summary of the Runner Initiative—the anti-gang and anti-crime ballot measurel (being circulated for signatures for the Nov 2008 general election) that would earmark nearly $1 billion California general fund dollars in perpetuity for law enforcement and victim service programs.
